The eschar after being bumped by the family dog and starting to detach prematurely. The white spots in the tissue at 6 o'clock may be broken roots (leaders) in the beginning of a salve mishap which will lead to a second salve treatment right after the first one--as soon as the skin heals over. No one puts black salve on raw flesh without "pain management" supplies at hand, which were not in this case. When the eschar detaches naturally, the roots have been drawn up into the scab rather than being left behind in the tissue. One knows when a root breaks abnormally--the area throbs and aches for a while. It is a "very distinctive" pain.
